The Meditation
Have you ever thought of the reasons why people
obey commands?
- There are people who obey because they are
afraid. Sometimes children are afraid of their
parents.
- There are people who obey because they are
paid to obey. A hired person may do what he is
told to do.
- There are people who obey because they hope
for some extra reward.
- There are people who obey because they are
in the habit of doing what they are told.
- There are people who obey because they love
the one who gives the commands and they
believe in his wisdom!
Christian obedience is to love God and love His
commandments, and this is life at its best—to
love His authority and to have the authority of
love.
